Why does listing accuracy matter?
Google cross-checks your business details against other sites before it trusts you enough to show you in the map pack. Mismatched names, old addresses and wrong phone numbers lower that trust and send real customers to dead ends.
Which sites does the free scan check?
About 50 on every scan: Google, Foursquare (which feeds Apple Maps, Uber and dozens of apps) and OpenStreetMap; your own website; Yelp, BBB, Yellow Pages, MapQuest, Chamber of Commerce and 20+ other directories; 8 sites for your industry; and Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, TikTok, Nextdoor and Pinterest. It flags listings that are missing, show a different phone number, or still use an old business name.
